For troubleshooting our PC for any reason we use to log in in safe mode and solve the problem and we can do this in Windows XP, Windows Vista and 7 by pressing F8 at the start-up of PC but in Windows 8 it won't appear. It is one of important system for troubleshooting so Microsoft is not going to remove it, the thing is that starting safe mode has been changed in windows 8
For Safe Mode in Windows 8 we have two conditions when windows boot normally and when it won’t. Here I have solution for both conditions.
Method 1: When Windows starts normally
Press Windows Key + C to open charms bar
Click on settings then on Change PC settings
Go to General tab and click on Restart now under Advanced startup
After PC will restart
Now click on Troubleshoot
Click on Advanced options
Choose Windows Startup Settings
Now you can see safe mode option
Choose the options using numbers 1,2,3...9,10
Press 4 for booting in Safe Mode
After this your PC will restart and boot in safe mode
Method 2: When windows do not starts normally
Sometime there may be chances that even your windows won’t start, in such conditions you need to boot in safe mode in windows 8 by using command prompt. This will start windows 8 in safe mode when windows won’t start normally.
Procedure:
You will get screen as in above method if your computer do not start normally. You have to click on Advanced options as above then click on Command Prompt which will open DOS then type bcdedit /set {default} safeboot then hit enter button. This will boot your windows with minimal programs and requirements for booting windows 8 in safe mode.
