Announcement of assembly election in Gujarat
The battle for the Gujarat assembly elections has started. Election Commission announced the dates of Gujarat elections by press conference on Wednesday. In Gujarat, elections will be held in two phases, in the first phase, elections will be held in 89 assembly seats. For the first phase, on December 9, the votes will be cast. In the second phase, elections will be held in 93 Assembly seats and for the second phase, the votes will be cast on December 14. Counting of votes will be on December 18. In the first phase, voting will be held in 19 districts, while in the second phase, votes will be cast in 14 districts.
In the press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Akal Kumar Jyoti said that there are 4.30 crore voters in 182 seats in Gujarat. 50,128 polling stations have been set up for elections. He said that voting guide will also be given in Gujarati language. VVPAT will be used in elections
